And Breathe

May 2021

Every single breath we take brings opportunity, to renew, to adjust, to let go, to invite in... and yet at this time of year, where social calendars may start to look a little busier, it is so easy to forget what power is held there in that breath. So this month is all about creating space to breathe, both in your schedule, and in your being!

We are also welcoming our first ever guest teacher, James Dowler. James is a breathwork coach who has been integral to my own practice over the last year. Some of you may know him already, but if you haven't experienced his work, I can't wait for you to.

There is so much power in your breath. Let's harness it!

New the month:

Flanks
vinyasa
A practice to build space in and around the lungs and heart to work into the full capacity of our own breathing. Please note the audio of this practice is not as clear as our usual standard, but it's a beautiful practice so I hope you still enjoy the class!

The High-Low
vinyasa
A practice that moves through varying levels of intensity to offer the exploration of building and softening and alternate between active and passive elements of practice.

Body Warmer
flow to restore
In this class we will build space in the body through warming ourselves with movement and breath, before settling into a nurturing restorative close.

All the Props
restorative
A deeply nurturing and nourishing practice to support you in down-regulation of the nervous system to support the healing of any part of ourself that feels under strain and restore balance.

Emotional Release
meditation
We're so excited to be joined by our first guest teacher here on The Practice - and what a pleasure to have James Dowler [aka Breathe With James] as the first. In this 20 minute meditation, James will guide us through a breathwork session designed to help with emotional release. We'll be using breathwork as a tool to help clear and emotional baggage or build up of emotional charge that we may be holding onto in our body so that in turn we can feel more coherent and clear internally.
